Estate Mead Series

Great Mead Hall is beginning an Estate Mead Series, which is when a honey estate is used to create a terre Traditional Mead.

Our first Óðrerir estate mead is beginning early summer 2018, from the Sullivan Estate.

The Sullivan Estate was located on Russco Road in Kent City, MI. Having recently been sold at auction, we were able to procure a large supply of very nice blueberry/wildflower/buckwheat honey.

The Randy Slachter Estate, located in Hopkins, Michigan. Randy is a third generation beekeeper. He started keeping bees when he was in his early twenties and was mentored by long-time beekeeper, Eugene Belgraph. His grandparents and uncle were also beekeepers. Randy stopped keeping bees in the 80’s due to tracheal mite and family obligation. When he retired in 2008, he returned to beekeeping. Randy and his wife now manage approximately 100 hives.

Other estate honey will be added later this year, with an expectation of releasing two a year!
